Brian Clement – Head Coach / Co-Founder of Maine Firecrackers

A 2013 inductee into the Lake Region sports Hall of Fame, Brian Clement was fortunate to learn a lot instructing the game from his highly regarded coach, Ken Whitney. Clement was the point guard on the 1986 team that defeated Dexter 54-52 for the Class B State Championship before he moved on to play for longtime Colby College legend Dick Whitmore, who taught him more about the game and how to compete properly.

Clement is a student of the game and someone with great passion for teaching young athletes. A principled man, he won’t cut corners or allow his players to either.

Among some of his more significant Firecracker wins included a 2011 8th grade team that finished 2nd at AAU D2 Nationals (68 competing teams) and a 2014 USJN Silver Division Championship. The 2014 16u National team he coached since 7th grade had 6 players offered scholarships and included commitments to Brown ( Butler), St. Anselm’s (Briggs), Bentley (Lux), UNH (Storey and Clement) Bowdoin (Graham), Colby (McCrum), Endicott (Dalphonse), and Wheaton (Hamilton).

Clement and his wife Carolyn have three daughters who are all Firecrackers. Allie is a graduate of at Marist, Sarah is junior UNH, and Camille is a sophomore at Greely High School.
