Schedule set for 17u US Junior Nationals in Washington, DC

Firecrackers moved up two divisions after winning Silver championship in 2014

For the Maine Firecrackers, repeating their championship performance at the 2014 US Junior Nationals won’t be an easy task. Based on previous success the 2015 team has been moved up two divisions, from Silver to Platinum for this week’s four day tournament.

The 2014 squad won eight games in four days to capture the USJN Silver Division Championship. That team was led by seniors Hannah Graham (Bowdoin), Victoria Lux (Bentley), Ashley Storey (New Hampshire), Mary Butler (Brown), Olivia Dalphone (Emmanuel), and Katie McCrum (Colby).

The 2015 Nike/USJN 17u National Championships are being hosted at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. Pool play begins on Wednesday, July 22, an ends on Friday, July 24. Teams that finish 1st or 2nd in pool play will advance to the championship format on Saturday, July 25.

The Platinum division includes 48 of some the very best AAU programs in the country, with only three teams from New England.
