Katie Bergeron & Jack Stannard – Head Co-Coaches
Katie Bergeron is a Maine native, Old Town Hall of Fame Inductee, and graduate of Bowdoin College (2011). There she was a four-year member, senior captain, and 1,000- point scorer of the women’s basketball team. Bergeron served one year as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Emmanuel College (Boston, Mass.) before pursuing a professional basketball career in Europe. Bergeron played two seasons as the starting point guard for Leeds Carnegie (Leeds, UK) and another season with Aabyhoj Basketball Club (Aarhus, Denmark). In the 2013-2014 season in Leeds Bergeron was named, EuroBasket Guard of the year, EuroBasket Import of the year and EuroBasket Player of the year for Division 2.
Bergeron restarted her coaching career at South Portland High school from 2014-2016. She currently works at Fidelity Investments in Portland and is the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Southern Maine Community College. In the past 3 seasons they have accumulated a record of 66-20 and in the 2018-2019 season she was name Yankee Small College Conference Coach of the Year.
Katie lives in Falmouth with her Husband and Co-Coach Jack Stannard and their dogs Elwood and Casper and cats Domino and Nutmeg.
Jack Stannard is a former Great Britain International Player and has begun his American coaching career after a successful playing career across Europe, including stops in England, France, Italy and Denmark. While in England, in the 2013-2014 season, Stannard was named National Tournament MVP and won the Clubs first and only National Championship. Upon arrival to the US, Stannard immediately began coaching at the University of Southern Maine where he stayed for 3 seasons. He stopped coaching in the 2018-2019 season and has picked up a passion for long distance running. He has completed 3 Marathons and 4 Ultra Marathons in the past 2 years.
Jack lives in Falmouth with his wife and Co-Coach Katie Bergeron and their dogs Elwood and Casper and cats Domino and Nutmeg.
