Fordham basketball the latest to offer scholarship to DeWolfe
Firecracker freshman playing big role in Greely Rangers success
Fordham University became the latest to offer Firecracker Anna DeWolfe a scholarship, on Sunday, while the Greely High School freshman visited the Bronx, NY campus. DeWolfe was able to take in Fordham’s, 47-40, win over conference rival Saint Joseph’s while on campus.
Fordham is a long-standing member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Rams are currently 8-10 overall, and 3-2 in the A-10, following back-to-back wins over George Mason and St. Joe’s.
Fordham follows Boston University, who extended a scholarship offer to DeWolfe on January 2. Head coach Katy Steding is in her second season of rebuilding the Terriers program in the Patriot League.
Steding is assisted by Maine legend Cindy Blodgett. A Clinton native, Blodgett led Lawrence High School to four-straight Class A state championships and is Maine’s all-time leading scorer in high school basketball with 2,596 points.
DeWolfe is having a very successful campaign as a freshman at Greely. The Rangers, the 2015 Class B state champions, improved to 10-3 on Monday by defeating Gray-New Gloucester 66-38. DeWolfe scored 16 points in the win.
