Firecrackers ready for Commotion by the Ocean

An undefeated weekend in Maine has teams prepared for Rhode Island

After a successful showing at the New England vs. Canada Challenge, the Maine Firecrackers will send four teams to Commotion by the Ocean this coming weekend in Rhode Island.

Commotion by the Ocean, hosted by the Rhode Island Breakers, is the largest showcase tournament in New England. The tournament is held in Mansfield, MA, and Bristol and Portsmouth, RI.

The 8th-grade Firecrackers, entering the tournament on a hot streak, will open against the MPC Royals at 12:40 PM on Saturday. They’re coming off a bracket championship in the 8th/9th Grade division at NE vs. Canada, after knocking off Team Nova Scotia 51-37.

The 15U Regional team had similar results last weekend, finishing 4-0 and as bracket champions in the high school division. Coach Cousins squad will open at 3 PM against the Rising Stars.

Both national teams will open play at Commotion by the Ocean on Saturday afternoon. 15U Whitmore will meet Granite State at 1:50 PM, and 16U Briggs will match up with JC Ballers at 12:40 PM.

The entire weekend schedule can be found on the Rhode Island Breakers website.
