Firecrackers Excel on Track as well as Basketball Court

Alexandra Hart, who played for Firecrackers Ingegneri 11u team this past AAU season, showed off her talents in other areas as well, when she broke the State Track record for 400m in the Midget age-group. (Midgets is for athletes born in 2000 and 2001). She now holds the record for this distance in both Bantam and Midget age-groups.

Two other Firecrackers were also winners at the State meet. In the Youth division, Adelaide Cooke who played for Firecrackers Hart 12u team won the 3 events (100m hurdles, shot put and discus) and came within 0.1s of winning the 200m, finishing second. Grace Wiggin, who played for Firecrackers Labbe 10u was part of the Falmouth 4 x 100m relay team that won the Midget title.
The State Track and Field meet was held this past weekend in Brewer, with athletes from all over the state competing.
