Ashley Storey named America East Rookie of the Week

Firecracker scored career-high 22 points in UNH win over Binghamton

DURHAM, NH – Freshman Ashley Storey scored a career-high 22 points to lead the University of New Hampshire women’s basketball team to a 64-49 win over Binghamton on Saturday and for her efforts was named the America Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.

A 6-foot-3 forward, Storey made 10 of her 12 field goals and both of her foul shots against Binghamton and also had four rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal in the game. The Rookie of the Week honor is the first weekly award, either Player of the Week or Rookie of the Week, collected by a Wildcat this season.
