Firecracker, Esposito named to First-Team for second consecutive year
Seven Firecrackers, including junior Emily Esposito, were named to the WMTW Hoops 8 All-State team on Thursday.
Esposito, named to the first-team, led the Gorham Rams to the Class AA state crown by averaging 18.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 2.8 assists per game. Gorham teammate Mackenzie Holmes joined Esposito on the All-State team, being selected to the third-team.
Cornell-bound Jess Willerson (McAuley), and freshman Anna DeWolfe (Greely) represented the Firecrackers by being chosen to the second team. Senior Kelsey Shaw, headed to Stonehill in the fall on a full scholarship, was voted to the third-team.
Brie Wajer, a junior at Lincoln Academy, was selected as Honorable Mention All-State. First-year Firecracker McKenzy Ouellette (Massabesic) was also named Honorable Mention.
