Firecrackers hit the road for Deep South Classic
15U opens tournament play on Thursday night in Raleigh, NC
The 16U and 15U Maine Firecrackers are on the road this weekend, competing in the 19th annual Deep South Classic. The four day event will be hosted at the Raleigh (NC) Convention Center that will feature 20 courts from Thursday through Sunday.
The Deep South Classic brings together many of the nation’s elite prep athletes during the only live recruiting period allowed by the NCAA. In past years, prep superstars such as Courtney Paris, Alana Beard, Erlana Larkins, Candace Parker, Noelle Quinn and Tiffany Jackson have played in the event.
The 15U Firecrackers open play tonight, at 8:55 PM, against FGB (Florida). The 16U Firecrackers will wait until Friday to get started, and tip-off at 2:30 PM against the Minnesota Fury. Champions of the 2015 Deep South Classic, the Fury are one of the elite programs in the country, having had 25 players commit to NCAA Division I programs in the last three years.
