Firecrackers participate in 2015 Maine McDonald’s All-Star Weekend
This past weekend (March 13-14th), many players around the state were honored for their play on the court over the weekend at the 35th annual McDonald’s All-Star Banquet and games. It was a proud moment for both Coach Clement and Coach Briggs as the Firecracker program sent 8 players to the game! In addition, we also had 6 of the 10 Miss Maine Basketball semi-finalists (Ashley Storey, Mary Butler, Ashley Briggs, Katie McCrum, Victoria Lux, and Hannah Graham). The banquet was held Friday night at the new Cross Insurance Center in Bangor and the evening concluded with naming the Miss Maine Basketball winner which was our very own Ashley Storey!
The next morning, the All Star game was played with the West Class A/B versus the East Class A/B selections squaring off. The West squad ended up with the bragging rights this time with a convincing 69-39 win. We were able to grab a before (all dressed up for the banquet) picture and after (post game) and in both cases the girls were all smiles which is exactly what this weekend was all about.
What a tremendous way to end their high school basketball careers and to have 8 Firecrackers represented was incredible. We wish all of them good luck in their college careers!
