Esposito, Fennie and Holmes help Gorham to AA South title

Firecrackers teammates combine for 27 points in Rams, 37-30, win over South Portland

Freshman Mackenzie Holmes scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Gorham High knocked off South Portland, 37-30, for the first AA South championship on Friday night. Gorham advances to face Edward Little in the state championship game next Saturday night.

Holmes added two steals and two blocks for the Rams, while shooting 5-of-9 from the field. Junior Emily Esposito added ten points, eight rebounds, and three steals in the win. Fennie, also a junior, recorded five points and two blocks.
